Above The Limits: The Buddy Mobility Care Film, directed by National Award- Winning film director Ojaswwee Sharma, and produced by Sartaj Lamba, has won the Special Jury Award for Best Short Documentary at the 12th Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) 2026. The award was presented during the festival’s closing ceremony held at Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, on 4th February 2026.

Directed by Ojaswwee Sharma, the only recipient of the National Film Award at the 68th National Film Awards from Chandigarh, the campaign film (recognised under the short documentary category) aims to raise awareness and offer practical solutions for accessible mobility. While focused on users with wheelchairs, elderly care and persons with disabilities, the film also highlights the needs of underage individuals and anyone dependent on caregivers for mobility and daily support.

The recognition of Above The Limits at RIFF 2026 reinforces cinema’s ability to drive conversations around accessibility, care, and inclusion. It also marks another milestone in Ojaswwee Sharma’s ongoing journey of using film as a medium for social development and human connection.

The film showcases Buddy Mobility Care’s integrated service model, which combines specially designed vehicles, trained caregivers, and a responsive support team. Through real-life stories and on-ground impact, it emphasises dignity, personalised care, and customised mobility solutions for those unable to drive or requiring constant assistance.

Inspired by the initiative of Smt. Sartaj Lamba, Above The Limits features Somya Thakur (Miss Wheelchair World India) alongside various recognised para-athletes from India and inclusivity advocates from North India, especially in the Chandigarh Region. Their authentic representation and stories underline how accessible mobility can transform independence, confidence, and quality of life.

The campaign film is produced by Sartaj Lamba, Ojaswwee Sharma, Pinaka Mediaworks, and MasterShot Pictures.

At RIFF 2026, two films by Ojaswwee Sharma were officially selected for screening. His recent work Rabb Di Awaaz, has also been recognised by the United Nations in India, further strengthening his standing as a filmmaker committed to socially relevant storytelling. His earlier films Zubaan (2018), The Last Date (2018), and Admitted (2019) were previously screened at RIFF, earning appreciation for their thematic depth and social impact.

The film was screened on 4 February 2026 at Miraj Cinemas, Bluecity Mall, Jodhpur, as part of RIFF’s official selection on the final day of the festival. It highlights the pioneering work of Buddy Mobility Care, an accessibility-focused service that redefines assisted mobility in India.
